14 Months ago Jigsaw Security Enterprise began tracking a group of Russian actors that were heavily active in the underground carding industry. At the time the activity was centered around the Charlotte, North Carolina area. Police believed that Russian actors were perpetrating attacks on ATM machines at the time and released limited information.
Our review of these subjects indicated that after two of the subjects were identified and caught that the activity tailed off and then stopped last June. Fast forward to this June and we are starting to see the same highly sophisticated attacks take place in Fayetteville, Raleigh and Durham North Carolina.
We can't release exactly how we know this activity is related to previously detected activity but the end users card information is being sold through the same online marketplaces as last time and the equipment being located and disabled is very similar in nature to what we were observing last year. The main difference is the change in location.
The Perpetrators
Jigsaw Security is releasing pictures from surveillance camera's from the recent Spring Hope (outside of Fayetteville) activity in the hope that someone will be able to identify the subjects responsible for the card skimming installations in that particular area.
As you can see from the second photo one of the individuals has an identifying tattoo on the center of his neck.
If anybody has information on the identify of these individuals please contact Jigsaw Security at 800-447-2150 Ext. 1. All reports are anonymous and a reward of up to $5000 is active for information leading to the capture or arrest of the individuals responsible for this activity.
